Gallaudet's Cam Lexow named Jostens Trophy finalist

SALEM, Va. - Gallaudet University women's basketball sophomore guard/forward Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) was named a finalist for the 2025 Jostens Trophy announced Friday by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC).

The Jostens Trophy is awarded to the outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball players who excel on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. This season marks the 26th presentation of the awards, with the inaugural trophies bestowed in 1998.

Lexow is one of 10 women's finalists and the fourth Jostens Trophy finalist in Gallaudet history. Lexow joins women's basketball forward Cassidy Perry (2024), men's basketball guard Noah Valencia (2020) and women's basketball guard/forward Hannah Neild (2019) as the quartet of Bison to be named Jostens Trophy finalists.

Lexow was named the 2024-25 United East Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year. She is on the all-conference first team for a second consecutive year. Lexow helped Gallaudet win the United East championship and make its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2011. The graduate student earned four United East Player of the Week honors (three defensive, one offensive awards) during the season (Nov. 25, Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Feb. 10). Lexow ranks 12th in NCAA Division III for steals (94), 15th in blocks (65), 21st in steals per game (3.24), blocks per game (2.24) 47th in field goals (181), 55th in assists (108), 78th in field goal percentage (47.5), 88th in field goal attempts (381), 92nd in assists per game (3.7), 97th in points (432) and 98th in assist/turnover ratio (1.44).

"We are beyond thrilled to see Cam Lexow recognized as a Jostens Trophy finalist! This is an incredible honor and so well-deserved for someone who embodies the true spirit of student-athletes," said Gallaudet coach Stephanie Stevens. "Cam has been a game-changer for our team, leading by example every single day with her passion, drive, and commitment not just on the court, but in her academics and community involvement. Her impact extends far beyond the scoreboard and inspires everyone around her. We are so proud of her achievements and can't wait to see what's next for her."

The Rotary Club of Salem is responsible for the initial review of the nominees, which it conducts over a two-week period. The Club's Jostens Trophy Committee objectively reviews the nominees and uses a numerical system to pare down the pools to an initial list of 20 finalists -- 10 for the men's award and 10 for the women's trophy.

The finalists will now be reviewed by the Jostens Trophy National Selection Committee. The committee is composed of men and women from across the country. The committee features current and former athletic administrators and head coaches, past Jostens Trophy recipients, and select members of the Division III media. The committee will spend the next week-plus reviewing the nominees with the aim of announcing the two winners the week after the Division III basketball championships are complete.

About The Jostens Trophy
The Jostens Trophy is a national award created by the Rotary Club of Salem to honor the most outstanding men's and women's NCAA Division III basketball players of the year. The award takes into account three vital parts: basketball ability, academic prowess, and community service.
