WASHINGTON – The 2024 Gallaudet University football schedule was officially announced by 14th-year head coach Chuck Goldstein. The schedule features four home games and five road games for the Bison, who won a share of the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) regular-season title last season with a 3-1 conference record and 4-5 overall mark.
Gallaudet will begin the season on the road. The Bison will travel to Albright College for a Friday Night Lights showdown in Reading, Pa., on Sept. 6 against the Lions. The following week, GU will make its home opener at Hotchkiss Field against United States Merchant Marine Academy on Sept. 14 at noon. The Bison will make their furthest road trip during Week 3 as GU heads to Maine to take on University of New England on Sept. 21. Gallaudet wraps-up the month of September at home against George Mason University, a club football team from Fairfax, Va., on Sept. 28 at noon.
GU continues its homestand on Oct. 5 against Nichols before a well-deserved bye week. The Bison will begin ECFC play on Saturday, Oct. 19, against Anna Maria College at 1 p.m. on Homecoming Weekend. This is also the final home game for the Bison this season, thus the team will celebrate their senior class before the start of the game. Gallaudet will travel to Franklin, Mass., to face Dean College on Oct. 26 in another conference game.
Gallaudet begins the month of November against ECFC rival Alfred State College on Nov. 2 at noon.
This is the last year of the ECFC conference. The top teams in the ECFC standings will face-off in a championship game on Nov. 16 with the winner securing the conference's automatic qualifier bid to the NCAA tournament. The third and fourth-place teams will play a consolation game on Nov. 16. The No. 1 seed and No. 3 seed will host the respective games.
Gone from the ECFC this season is Vermont State University Castleton (MASCAC).
