NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the women's outdoor track and field all-region honorees for NCAA Division III this season and Gallaudet University first year Oceana Brown (Miami, Fla.) and senior Hannah Wetzel (Fremont, Calif.) earned All-Region honors.
Wetzel earned All-Region honors in the high jump, long jump and triple jump events. This is the second consecutive year Wetzel earned All-Region honors in the triple jump during the outdoor season. Wetzel now has four combined outdoor All-Region honors to go with four indoor All-Region honors for eight total.
Brown picked up her first outdoor All-Region honor in the 200-meter dash and second overall after earning an indoor All-Region honor in the 200-meter dash earlier this year.
Gallaudet competes as a member of the United East Conference during the outdoor season in the South Region.
The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – East, Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Mideast, Midwest, Niagara, North, South, and West – match those used during the track and field season.
USTFCCCA All-Region honors for indoor track & field and outdoor track & field for NCAA Division III started during the 2015-16 academic year. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
