SALISBURY, Md. - The Gallaudet University women's track and field team competed in the Eastern Shore Challenge hosted by Salisbury University on Saturday. There were no team scores recorded for the meet.
First year
Jala Furdge (Brandon, Miss.) competed in the 1,500-meter run and placed 10th with a time of six minutes and 19.17 seconds to set a new personal best time. Furdge finished 12th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 32.73 seconds.
Junior
Olivia Armstrong (Rotterdam, N.Y.) was right behind Furdge in the 1,500-meter run in 11th place (6:19.87). Armstrong took eighth in the 800-meter run with a time of 3:09.96.
First year
Tori Cushshon (St. Louis, Mo.) participated in the shot put event and placed 10th with a top throw of 8.12 meters (26 feet, 7.75 inches). In addition to shot put, Cushshon competed in discus throw and finished 10th with a throw that traveled 19.16 meters (62 feet, 10 inches).
UP NEXT
The Bison are off for two weeks before they will head to La Plume, Pa., for the 2026 United East Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Keystone College. The two-day championships begin on Saturday, May 2.
