Box Score HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team dropped an 83-54 game here Saturday to Haverford College in a non-conference game.
This was Gallaudet's first visit to Haverford in 40 years as the Bison won in overtime, 68-65, back on Feb. 10, 1984. This is only the second meeting between the two schools.
Gallaudet (3-8) scored the game's first four points before Haverford (5-5) got on the scoreboard. The Fords used a 14-0 run to take a 16-6 lead midway through the opening quarter.
Haverford took a 28-16 lead into the second quarter and hit three 3-pointers to kick things off and take a 37-20 lead. The Ford made six 3-pointers in the second and finished 8-for-11 in the first half. GU trailed 56-31 at the half.
Gallaudet was outscored 17-11 in the third before the Bison held a 12-10 advantage in the fourth.
Sophomore guard
Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) led the Bison with 17 points, seven rebounds and two assists as Lexow made two 3-pointers. Senior center
Alexis Roberts (Newton, Miss.) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Roberts added two blocks, two assists and two steals.
Senior guard
Raj Guettler (Frederick, Md.) was the third Bison in double figures with 12 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Haverford had four players score 14 or more points led by Caroline Orza's 25-point game. Orza made four 3-pointers and tallied six steals and four assists. The Fords shot a program best 57.6 percent (34-for-59) from the field and finished 56.3 percent (9-for-16) from 3-point range.
