Three Gallaudet football players earn All-ECAC Second Team honors

DANBURY, Conn. - The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) recently announced its 2023 Division III Football All-ECAC teams and major award winners which included three Gallaudet University student-athletes honored on the Second Team list.

Sophomore return specialist Andrae' Green (Washington, D.C.) and senior punter Jonathan Waterman (Redding, Calif.) were selected for the All-ECAC Second Team Special Teams. Both athletes received this distinction for the first time. The players made up two of the three selections under this title, the third being Union (N.Y.) College junior kicker Max Gluck. 

GU's third teammate, offensive lineman John Scarboro (Austin, Texas), accomplished this honor for the second year in a row, as he was selected to the All-ECAC Second Team Offense once again. 

The Bison are the only selections from the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC) on either teams. 

Gallaudet wrapped up the 2023 season with a 4-5 record overall and tied for first-place in the conference standings with a 3-1 mark.

Quarterback Jacob Pugh from Washington & Jefferson College was voted ECAC Offensive Player of the Year, while defensive back Raylens Boutin from SUNY Brockport took home ECAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. David Williams, defensive back from Allegheny College, was picked as the ECAC Rookie of the Year. Mike Cerasuolo from Springfield College won ECAC Coach of the Year honors.
