LATHAM, N.Y. - Gallaudet University junior middle hitter
Anya Pothorski (Columbus, Ohio) was named to the 2023 United East Conference Women's Volleyball All-Sportsmanship Team as announced by the conference office.
The United East All-Sportsmanship Team recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. Student-athletes selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. Each individual has been chosen by their coach as a representative who embodies the Division III spirit.
Pothorski joins 16 other student-athletes, a representative from each conference member, on the All-Sportsmanship Team. Pothorski finished the season with 212 kills, .374 attack percentage, 97 blocks, 51 digs and 275.5 points in 34 matches played as the Bison won the United East championship and made a NCAA tournament appearance.
The 17 student-athletes are ambassadors for their teams, both on and off the course, and galvanize their teammates toward their goals. They exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, spectators, and the greater campus community.
