Box Score ABINGTON, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's basketball team picked up a thrilling 78-70 win here Saturday against Penn St.-Abington in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) South Division game on the road.
Gallaudet (6-11, 4-5 NEAC) fell behind by 10 points to Penn St.-Abington (7-10, 5-4 NEAC), out of the gate, and trailed for the entire first half until the Bison tied the game at 35-35 at intermission.
In the third quarter, GU made its move and secured the lead early on in the second half. The Bison outscored the Nittany Lions by 10 points, 21-11, and led 56-46 with 10 minutes left to play. PSA closed the gap to three points with several minutes left to play but GU was able to fend off any rally to secure the win.
Freshman forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) scored a career-high 28 points as she made 12 of 16 shots from the field. Perry grabbed eight rebounds and made three big blocks and passed out three assists and made one steal. Junior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.) played the entire game and finished with 22 points and five assists. Freshman guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) and junior guard Kendall Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Hudson led the team with nine defensive rebounds.
The Nittany Lions had three players in double figures led by guard Ashya Gaddy's 22-point performance to go with eight rebounds, four steals and two assists.

- Freshman Rajena Guettler (Frederick, Md.) matched Hudson with nine rebounds and scored five points
- Freshman Ariel Senics (Fishers, Ind.) added three boards and two assists off the bench
- The Bison shot a season-best 52.7 percent from the field (29-for-55)
- GU matched its season-high five 3-pointers
- Gallaudet had a 39-32 edge in rebounds
- The Bison scored 34 points in the paint
- GU shot 60 percent from the field in the second half
- PSA scored 26 points off 23 Bison turnovers
- The two teams split the season series
- PSA won a 77-74 overtime game two weeks ago (Jan. 15) in the Field House
