Personal records fall on Senior Day as GU gets clipped by SUNY Cobleskill, 133-120

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University men's swimming team lost a close North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) meet to SUNY Cobleskill, 133-120, here Saturday in the Field House pool.

The meet came down to the final few events as the top two teams in the NEAC traded event wins.

Gallaudet (2-8, 2-1 NEAC) won four of the 14 events as the depth of the Bison team helped to keep them in the meet. In the process, GU set 15 personal best times.

SUNY Cobleskill (7-4, 3-0 NEAC) came away with 10 victories, including one relay event.

The meet featured the top two swimmers in the conference in Gallaudet junior Ben Sealts (Ottawa, Ohio) and SUNY Cobleskill junior Daniel Mullen, who were 2019 NEAC Co-Swimmer of the Year honorees.

Sealts came away with three first-place individual events and started the meet on Gallaudet's 400-yard medley relay team that won in 4:34.70. Sealts and Mullen went head-to-head in the 200-yard IM where Sealts touched the wall first in 2:05.89 to edge out Mullen (2:11.68).

Sealts added first-place wins in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.55) and 200-yard backstroke (2:02.63).
