Box Score WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University dropped a 78-72 North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) women's basketball game here Wednesday in the Field House on "Gold Rush" night.
Gallaudet (4-10, 2-4 NEAC) and Lancaster Bible (4-11, 2-4 NEAC) kept things close in the opening quarter as the Chargers led 20-18 after the first 10 minutes played. LBC outscored GU by 10 points, 27-17, in the second quarter as the visitors took a 47-35 lead into halftime.
In the second half, GU outscored LBC by six points, 37-31, but ran out of time to regain the lead as the Chargers led for over 34 minutes.
GU had four players in double-digits led by junior guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.), who tallied a game-high 21 points and passed out nine assists. Freshman guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) recorded 15 points, five steals and four rebounds. Freshman forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) recorded 14 points and nine rebounds. Junior Kendall Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) netted 12 points and four boards.
LBC was led by Alaysha Iwais' 20-point game performance to go with six assists, two rebounds and two steals. Lizzy Tilton added 18 points, six boards and five assists while Caitlin Hickey tallied 14 points and five assists.
