Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University baseball team saw its offense warm up on a frigid Saturday afternoon at Hoy Field as the Bison swept Clarks Summit University 16-4 and 14-5 in a non-conference doubleheader.

Gallaudet (4-6) snapped its six-game losing streak as the Bison tallied a combined 30 runs and 35 hits against Clarks Summit (0-2) in the two seven-inning games.

Game 1: Gallaudet 16, Clarks Summit 4
Gallaudet scored runs in every inning but the fifth as the Bison built an early 3-0 lead and later increased the margin to 10-3 through five innings. The visitors tacked on one more run before the Bison put things away with six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Junior Robersy Delgado (Tampa, Fla.) picked up his first win of the season as he went six strong innings where he allowed four runs (one earned) on eight hits, walked two and struck out two. Freshman Billy Sowers (Woodland Hills, Calif.) pitched one inning of scoreless relief to close the game.

Game 2: Gallaudet 14, Clarks Summit 5
Sophomore pitcher Darren Drolsbaugh (Lansdale, Pa.) pitched a gem through the first five innings as he only allowed one hit during those shutout innings as GU built up a 11-0 lead. The Defenders got on the scoreboard with three runs in the top of the sixth with two outs after two Bison errors extended the frame.

The Bison responded with three of their own runs in the bottom of the sixth when senior Cameron Upton (Vicksburg, Miss.) hit an inside-the-park home run to right-center field to clear the bases and drive in three runs.

Drolsbaugh (1-0) finished the complete game as he allowed five runs (one earned) on four hits, walked one and struck out four.

Gallaudet collected six extra-base hits, highlighted by Upton's home run. Sophomore Austin Sliva-Wynne (Richmond, Texas) and junior Gilwon Seo (Hongseong, South Korea) had RBI triples in the win. Sliva-Wynne led all batters with four RBI while Upton and senior Ryan Gilbert (Mount Dora, Fla.) had four hits each.
