Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team pushed No. 18 Stevenson University for all three sets Thursday night on the road before the Bison lost 19-25, 20-25, 32-34 in straight sets.
Gallaudet (15-12) scored its most set points since a 33-31 set win over Penn St.-Berks on Sept. 25, 2010. The Bison won that match in straight sets.
Senior opposite hitter Lane Peters (Phoenix, Ariz.) recorded half of her team-high 14 kills in the third set. Peters added seven digs and four block assists on the night. Junior outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) added seven kills and 13 digs while sophomore libero Kate Fetzer (Noblesville, Ind.) tallied 13 digs and had the team's lone service ace. Sophomore setter TraciAnn Hoglind (Fishers, Ind.) passed out 28 assists and nine digs. Freshman Jasmine Jeter (Noblesville, Ind.) chipped in seven kills and seven digs while fellow freshman Giuletta Maucere (Frederick, Md.) recorded four kills and two block assists.
The Mustangs (29-1) have won six consecutive matches after it started the season with 23 straight wins. Stevenson has won in straight sets 25 different times this year.
GU returns home to host a NEAC Crossover Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 19, as the Bison will play three matches at noon, 4 and 6 p.m.
