Gallaudet begins NEAC title defense, picks up two conference wins

AURORA, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team, the two-time defending North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) champions, began defense of its title on Saturday at Wells College. The Bison picked up two conference wins with straight set victories over Morrisville St. and the host Express from Wells.

Gallaudet (12-4, 2-0 NEAC) defeated Morrisville 25-8, 25-3, 25-18 as every Bison player saw action. GU turned around defeated Wells 25-15, 25-8, 25-12.

Sophomore Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) had six kills and four digs against Wells while senior Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.) had five kills and 10 digs. Senior Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) added nine kills. Sophomore Sarah Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) passed out 28 assists.

In the quick win over Morrisville, junior Lane Peters (Phoenix, Ariz.) led the way with seven kills and Tubert tallied 27 assists.

Gallaudet will face SUNYIT tomorrow (Sunday, Sept. 23) at 10 a.m. on the Well's campus.
