WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team hosted non-conference opponents Lebanon Valley College and University of Scranton in their final matches of the regular season Saturday during homecoming. Gallaudet came away with straight set victories on Senior Day before a crowd of 500 plus at the Field House. GU finished the regular season on a seven-game winning streak and improved their record to 29-6 overall.

The Bison's first match of the day saw them win in convincing fashion with a 25-14, 25-17, 26-24 victory over Lebanon Valley College. Sophomore outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) led the way offensively for the Bison with 15 kills on 28 total attacks and 10 digs. Sophomore setter Sarah Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) set the table for the front line and finished the match with a match-high 42 assists while senior libero Mari Klassen (White Rock, British Columbia) led the Bison in digs with 16. Senior middle hitter Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) dominated the Dutchmen (19-14) at the net all match and finished with eight blocks (seven block assists) and 10 kills.

In their second match of the day, the Bison downed the Royals from Scranton in three tightly contested sets 25-21, 25-21, 25-22. Frowick once again led the Bison in kills with 14, followed closely by Israel and senior outside hitter Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.) who had 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Tubert passed out 38 assists and Klassen made 14 digs. Freshman libero Kate Fetzer pitched in 12 digs and two service aces while junior opposite hitter Lane Peters (Phoenix, Ariz.) added six kills in the win. The Royals (20-14) finished the day 0-2 as they were beaten by Lebanon Valley earlier in the day 25-21, 20-25, 26-28, 19-25.

Klassen, Israel, and Whited all celebrated their final regular-season matches for the Bison on Senior Day. The trio has helped the Bison compile a 108-43 record in four seasons so far. The three were part of Gallaudet's back-to-back North Eastern Athetic Conference (NEAC) championship runs in 2010, '11 and in 2009 helped the Bison win the ECAC South Region Championship.

The team looks to win a third straight conference championship when it hosts the NEAC tournament at the Field House on Nov. 2-3. As the No. 1 seed in the conference, the Bison have a bye in the first round of the tournament and will play their first match in the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 3. Official game times will be announced later this week.
