Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team made sure their losing streak was a brief one as they rebounded from a loss last week with a convincing 3-0 win over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Penn St.-Harrisburg on Monday night. The win was the Bison's 13th in their last 15 matches.
Leading the way for the Bison (23-6, 8-0 NEAC) was senior outside hitter Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.), who led all players with 11 kills to go along with nine digs and two service aces. Sophomore setter Sarah Tubert (Burbank, Calif.) contributed 36 assists, sophomore outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) added six kills to her conference-leading 352 on the season, and senior utility player Mari Klassen (White Rock, British Columbia) added a match-high 11 digs in the total team effort. The 25-8, 25-10, 25-10 win marked the 14th time the Bison have downed their opponent in straight sets this season.
The victory over the Lions (7-17, 1-7 NEAC) was the Bison's third straight since joining the NEAC in 2010 and was the first home loss for the Lions all season.
The Bison have three road conference matchups this weekend in Abington, Pa., before returning home on Tuesday, Oct. 23, to take on cross-town rivals Catholic University of America at 7 p.m.
