Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Gallaudet
University women's basketball team poured in 30 points in the
second half as the Bison outscored Wells College 30-27 but came up
short, 63-50, in Sunday's North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC)
game at the Field House.
Gallaudet (3-10, 1-6 NEAC South Division) reached the 50-point
plateau for the first time in five games in the second game of a
four-game homestand. Freshman guard Claire
Tucker (Middletown, Md.) came off the bench to score a
team-high 16 points while sophomore guard Britny
Latham (Cleveland, Tenn.) scored nine points, three
assists. Freshman forward Elena
Ciccarelli (Whitesboro, N.Y.) grabbed a team-high 11
rebounds and added seven points and three steals. Sophomore guard
Stephanie
Weiss (Wellington, Fla.) made a return as she scored
seven points for the buff and blue. The Bison bench outscored the
Express 30-11.
Wells sophomore guard/forward Ashley Roser secured her seventh
double-double of the season as she led all scorers with 19 points
and 16 rebounds and made a game-high five blocks and five steals.
The Express (3-10, 1-4 NEAC North Division) won their first
conference game of the season as they shot 45.9 percent from the
field. Wells led 36-20 at halftime.
The Express had three players in double digits led by Roser and
followed by freshman guard Jessilyn Artaho-Aki who scored 10 of her
14 points in the first half and made a game-high seven assists and
six steals. Sophomore guard Kristen Ryan added 10 points in the win
for Wells. The Express outscored the Bison 34-20 in the paint and
scored 27 points off the 27 turnovers committed by the Bison.
Gallaudet continues the homestand on Wednesday, Jan. 18, against
Penn St.-Harrisburg as the NEAC contest tips at 7 p.m.
