Box Score 2 WASHINGTON, D.C- The Gallaudet Lady Bison came
back after week long lull, due to the University's Spring Break and
took on the Eagles of Mary Washington in today's double
header. The Bison dropped both ends of the
double-dip 2-1 and 10-0 respectively.
Senior, Kallie Williams,
pitched a solid first game, allowing Mary Washington only two
hits. The rest of the Bison defense played solid as well,
particularly the outfielders who caught every ball that came their
way. On the offensive end, the team was able to rally up
three hits. Senior, Caitlin Mosholder
tallied two hits for the Lady Bison, and the only score for
this afternoon. The third hit of the game came from senior Keri Schmidt, who
brought in the only run of the game for the visiting GU. The Lady
Bison fought hard, but came up short with a final score of
Gallaudet 1, Mary Washington 2.
The second game of the night seemed to be a different paced
game. Mary Washington was able to tally 8 hits in the first
inning alone. Williams again pitched a strong game, but Mary
Washington found the holes and managed to score 10 runs against the
Lady Bison. Offensively, Gallaudet fought hard but UMW's
pitcher was amazing, holding the Lady Bison to a one-hit
shutout. Schmidt had the lone hit of the second game for
Gallaudet. The final score was 10-0.
The Gallaudet Softball team hosts the Bison Invitational this
weekend, March 28 and 29. The Lady Bison take the field again
Saturday, March 28, versus Lincoln University, where first pitch of
the game will be at 11:00am.
