WASHINGTON, DC--The Buff and Blue went through three games,
30-16, 30-20, 30-19 to end Marymount's season and advance to the
CAC semifinals. Thursday (Nov. 1)'s game is set for 7:00 p.m.
against St. Mary's College, the winner of the match against Mary
Washington. The game will be telecast live online; the URL will be
posted on the schedule page at 6:58 p.m. on Thursday evening.
In tonight's match, the Bison set the tone with good blocks and
strong hitting. They put forth a total of 14 service aces, with
Katelyn Reese's 4 taking the lead. On offense, hitters Reese,
Justine Jeter, Amanda Krieger and Ludmila Mounty-Weinstock
collected 8, 6, 5, 5 kills off 30 assists by setter Krystle
Berrigan.
At the time of writing, Justine Jeter and Ludmila
Mounty-Weinstock ranked 1-2 in conference standings for hitting
percentage, with 35% and 34% ratings. Krystle Berrigan leads in
assists with 11.5, and Shana Lehmann has earned top billing for
digs, averaging 6.12 a game.
Lehmann also posted 21 digs tonight, with Micaela Paulone adding
to the defensive output in her 10 digs.
Gallaudet continues its quest for the championship on Thursday
night at 7:00 p.m. in the Field House. The Bison will be looking to
avenge their sole conference loss against St. Mary, who won the
previous matchup over five games, snapping the Bison Home Stand at
18 consecutive home matches won with a 3-2 score at the Field House
on September 27. To date, the Bison have racked up 8 straight home
victories.
