WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team dropped its United East Conference home opener Tuesday evening as Notre Dame of Maryland University defeated the Bison, 8-0, at Hotchkiss Field.
The Gators (2-3-2, 1-1 United East) scored twice in the opening 11 minutes before junior forward Athanasios Ziliaskopoulos added two more goals to complete a first-half hat trick and give Notre Dame (Md.) a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Hawi Valentin (Pawtucket, R.I.) recorded Gallaudet's lone shot on goal in the 25th minute, but his attempt was stopped by Gators goalie Liam Wahlgren Pedersen (one save).
Notre Dame (Md.) added four goals in the second half. Freshman forward Nadim Ismaeel joined Ziliaskopoulos with a hat trick after scoring twice in the opening seven minutes of the second half. Sophomore midfielder Matteo Rovani and junior defender Martin Rasiwala accounted for the final two Gator goals.
