CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team kept Wilson College off the scoreboard for more than 42 minutes Saturday afternoon before the Phoenix pulled away in the second half for a 7-0 United East Conference victory at Kris's Meadow.
The Bison (0-9, 0-3 United East) received seven first-half saves from sophomore goalie
John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.), who helped keep the game scoreless until Wilson senior midfielder Jace Williams found the back of the net in the 43rd minute. Gallaudet went into halftime trailing by only one goal.
Wilson (1-6-2, 1-1 United East) extended its lead in the 53rd minute on a goal by sophomore defender Wes Reall Jr. before Williams scored twice more to complete his hat trick. Senior forward Bryson Curtis accounted for the Phoenix's final three goals, all coming in the last nine minutes, to record a hat trick of his own.
McCabe finished with 11 saves for the Bison. Williams and Curtis each scored three goals for Wilson, while senior midfielders Tyler Cottone and Jordan DeVincent contributed two assists apiece.
