HADDONFIELD, N.J. - Gallaudet University's men's swimming team earned the 2025-26 Team Academic Award as announced by the Atlantic East Conference. This is the first time the Bison men's team has earned this honor. GU's women's swimming program also brought home the 2025-26 Team Academic Award, their second straight, to give Bison head coach Brian Bennett the clean sweep this season.
The Team Academic Award is bestowed to the institution's team that had the top grade point average (GPA) in its respective sport through the semester(s) it played in. The GPA is calculated for each season as follows:
- Fall Season Teams (WSOC, MSOC, WVB, FH, WXC, MXC): Fall Semester Grades
- Winter Season Teams (WBB, MBB, WSWIM, MSWIM): Cumulative of Fall and Spring Semester Grades
- Spring Season Teams (MLAX, WLAX, BB, SB, WFLAG, MT&F, WT&F, MTEN, WTEN): Spring Semester Grades
Gallaudet's men's swimming team posted a conference best 3.60 cumulative GPA while the women's team had a 3.69 cumulative GPA.
The Bison are an associate member of the Atlantic East for men's and women's swimming only.
