Gallaudet brings home many United East Women's Flag Football all-conference honors and awards

LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference released its 2026 Women's Flag Football All-Conference teams and major awards on Thursday. Gallaudet University had quite the haul as the Bison earned six all-conference honors and took three of the top four major awards.

The United East all-conference teams consist of two teams made up of seven offensive players and seven defensive players.

Sophomore wide receiver/linebacker Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) was voted the Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and landed on the first team defense.

Gallaudet coach Emelia Beldon was voted by her peers as the 2026 Coach of the Year as she guided the Bison to a regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed in the United East tournament that GU hosted. The Bison finished the 2026 campaign with a 12-2 record and 8-0 mark in conference play as both win totals are school records.

Lummer is joined on the United East All-Conference first team defense by first-year cornerback Tamara Tadevosyan (Austin, Texas) and first-year rusher Brittany Rivera (Hesperia, Calif.). Sophomore quarterback Gianna Visco (Riverside, Calif.) and sophomore center/safety Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) were voted to the first team offense. First-year wide receiver Tiana Starayev (Noblesville, Ind.) was selected to the second team offense.

Lummer earned four United East Player of the Week honors (three on defense and one on offense) and finished the season with 77 tackles, 11 interceptions, six pass breakups in 14 games. On offense, she led the Bison with 112 receptions for 1,316 yards and 15 touchdowns. Lummer added a passing touchdown and ran one score in. Tadevosyan was second on the Bison with 54 tackles, five interceptions and five pass breakups in 13 games while Rivera led the Bison with 8.5 sacks for a loss of 41 yards and finished with 11.5 tackles for loss, 21 tackles and two pass breakups in eight games.

Visco was the top passer in the conference with 2,882 passing yards as she completed 282 of 412 passes and threw 43 touchdowns in the process. On the ground, Visco was GU's top rusher with 681 yards on 139 carries and eight scores. Zarembka was the second leading receiver on the team with 779 yards on 88 catches as she led GU with 18 touchdowns. Starayev was third on the team with 48 catches for 572 yards and eight receiving touchdowns and one score on the ground.

Penn State Harrisburg's Jordan Carpenter was selected as the 2026 Defensive Player of the Year as she completed the season with nine interceptions, eight pass breakups and 33 tackles for the conference champions.

The 2026 season was the inaugural year for United East to officially sponsor women's flag football as a varsity sport.

GU Honors
The Bison have six all-conference honors (five first team, 1 second team) since 2026 when the conference started its sponsorship of women's flag football. GU has earned three major awards (1 Player of the Year, 1 Rookie of the Year, 1 Coach of the Year).
