The Bison defeated the Lehman Lightning, 3-1, in the first match while the Cougars from Averett swept the next two matches. Averett defeated Lehman in four sets (15-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19) and came back to win the final two sets over the host Bison in a five-set thriller, 3-2.
