COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Gallaudet University men's indoor track and field senior
Walter Douglas (Sanford, Fla.) broke his own indoor school record in the long jump event here Saturday at the Frank Colden Invitational at Floy Lewis Bakes Fieldhouse on the Ursinus College campus.
Douglas leaped 6.78 meters (22 feet, 3 inches) on his sixth and final jump to finish second overall in the event. Douglas' previous school record mark was 6.68 meters (21 feet, 11 inches) set back on Feb. 25, 2025, at the Joe LaRocco Invitational hosted by Roanoke College.
Douglas also participated in the 400-meter dash and placed 47th overall with a time of 1:02.15.
Junior thrower
Navar Harris (Charleston, W.Va.) placed sixth overall in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.72 meters (45 feet, 0.25 inches).
First year
Sevan Ikeda (Fremont, Calif.) made his collegiate debut by placed seventh in the 1-mile run in 4:39.98. He also finished 12th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.65.
Junior
Andrae' Green (Washington, D.C.) finished ninth place in the triple jump with a top leap of 12.17 meters (39 feet, 11.25 inches). Green also ran the 400-meter dash and placed 16th overall with a time of 55.08.
First year
Roud Valcin (Naples, Fla.) competed in the triple jump and long jump, placed 13th in the triple jump (10.77 meters) and 20th in the long jump (5.43 meters).
Junior thrower
Andrew Suarez (Fairview, Texas) competed in both throwing events, finished 22nd in the weight throw with a top mark of 11.49 meters and 30th in the shot put with a 10.52 meters toss.
BISON TRACKS
- Sophomore Joe Bryan (Liberty, Mo.) took 39th place in the 400-meter dash (58.63) and placed 56th in the 200-meter dash (25.60)
- Sophomore Kendarrius Watkins (Fort Worth, Texas) placed 33rd in the shot put (10.27 meters)
- First year Mohamed Elsheikh (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) took 43th place in the 800 meter run (2:56.56)
- First year Jason Alford (Dayton, Ohio) ran in the 60-meter dash and finished 70th with a time of 7.82 seconds. Alford also ran in the 200-meter dash and placed 46th with a time of 25.19.
- First year Luka Cunha (Riverside, Calif.) took 73rd place in the 60-meter dash (7.85) and placed 56th in the 200-meter dash (27.07)

Gallaudet will travel down to Salem, Va., to participate in the Joe LaRocco Invitational hosted by Roanoke College next Saturday, Feb. 14.
