Greene shines as Gallaudet secures conference home victory over Valley Forge

WASHINGTON - First year forward/center Natalie Greene (Fresno, Texas) turned in a stellar performance game here Saturday afternoon in the Field House to lead the Gallaudet University women's basketball team to an 78-21 victory over University of Valley Forge in a United East Conference game.

Greene finished the game with her fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and career-high 17 rebounds. Greene swished 5 of 6 in free throws in 21 minutes played.

Gallaudet (5-13, 3-6 United East) jumped 16-0 run to end the first quarter with a score of 20-3 and never looked back as the buff and blue dominated Valley Forge (0-17, 0-10 United East) in every quarter, built a 38-9 halftime advantage while scored 45 points off 38 Patriots miscues.

Head coach Stephanie Stevens used the opportunity to rotate her full roster into the game, as every Bison played at least 10 minutes.

GU had three players in double digits for points led by Greene and followed by first-year forward/center Kayla Debrow (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocks while going a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Schirg (Factoryville, Pa.)  tallied 11 points and six boards. Senior guard Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) scored seven points, passed for six assists and three steals.

The Patriots were led by freshman Ruth Tilton, who finished with seven points and four rebounds.
