WASHINGTON – Sophomore forward
Wyatt Carlson (Hubertus, Wis.) had a career game here Tuesday evening, but it wasn't enough to push Gallaudet University past a hot-shooting Lancaster Bible College men's basketball squad.
The Chargers made 19 3-pointers and rolled to a 113-64 victory in the Field House between the two United East foes.
Carlson scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the second half as he concluded the game with career marks for points (18), rebounds (nine), field goals (8-for-14), free throws (2-for-4) and minutes (32).
Lancaster Bible (12-4, 4-0 United East) broke open the game with a 14-0 run in just under three minutes to go up 47-22. Mark Heidebrecht sparked the run with four straight buckets followed by back-to-back 3-pointers from Camden Hurst (14 points) and Bennett Bowers (11 points).
The Chargers led 63-34 at the half over the Bison, who shot a decent 52 percent from the field (13-for-25) as Lancaster Bible drained nine 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes of play.
In the second half, LBC emptied the bench and played a total of 18 players in the game. The Charger bench scored 73 points led by Heidebrecht's 19 points and 10 rebounds and Trey Grube's 18 points.
Gallaudet (1-11, 0-5 United East) finished the second half with 30 points with a third coming from Carlson.
Sophomore guard
Jory Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) finished with 11 points, five assists and three boards. First-year forward
Jayden Orsi-Pedersen (Frederick, Md.) and sophomore guard/forward
Alex Ortman (Norway, Mich.) added 10 points each. First-year guard
Zeke Ortiz (Frederick, Md.) tallied a career best five assists in the loss.
The 113 points are the most allowed this season and the most since Army West Point scored 111 and made 20 3-pointers on Dec. 7, 2025.
