WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University cheerleading squad is seeking people who want to be on the cheerleading team this 2025-26 season. The team will hold open tryouts and practice starting on Thursday, August 21.

dynamic and spirited Gallaudet students to join the cheer team — and
everyone is welcome!
Whether you have experience in:
- Tumbling or gymnastics
- Sideline cheering
- Stunting
- Hyping up the crowd with high energy
Or you're completely new —
NO experience? NO problem! Coach Miles and her staff will train you!
This year, the cheerleading team is adding a drummer to bring the beat and they are in need of a dedicated team manager to help keep the team organized and strong.
Practice will be on Thursday, Aug. 21, through Saturday, Aug. 23. Practice will continue on Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29, at Hotchkiss Field and the Thomas O. Berg Track.
The practice times are as follows: Aug. 21-22 at 5-7 p.m., Aug 23 at 9 a.m.-3 p.m. while Aug. 25-29 starts either at 5 or 7 p.m. and finishes at either 7 or 9 p.m.. Coach Miles will announce later.
Gallaudet cheerleaders' main goal is to provide outstanding school spirit at home Bison athletic games. Plus, the cheerleaders will have great community service on campus and in the local community.
