MINNEAPOLIS – Gallaudet University graduate student guard/forward Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) was named to the 2024-25 D3hoops.com women's basketball All-Region 4 third team on Tuesday. This is Lexow's first selection to the D3hoops.com All-Region team.
This is the 10th time in program history that a GU player has been selected for all-region honors. This is the fourth straight season a Bison has been honored by D3hoops.com with a selection to one of the all-region teams.
Lexow is one of two honorees from the United East Conference as graduate student Jordan Carpenter from Penn State Harrisburg is on the second team as a forward. Lexow and Carpenter were both United East Players of the Year as the Bison was selected for Defense and the Lion for Offense. In total, 15 women's basketball players were named to one of the three Region 4 teams (five players on each team).
Lexow was recently named a finalist for the 2025 Jostens Trophy, awarded to the outstanding NCAA Division III men's and women's basketball players who excel on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. In addition to her United East Defensive Player of the Year award, Lexow received a second straight selection to the All-United East First Team. Lexow helped Gallaudet win the United East championship and make its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2011. The graduate student earned four United East Player of the Week honors (three defensive, one offensive awards) during the season (Nov. 25, Jan. 13, Jan. 20, Feb. 10). Lexow ranks 12th in NCAA Division III for steals (94), 16th in blocks (65), 19th in steals per game (3.24), 21st in blocks per game (2.24) 50th in field goals (181), 59th in assists (108), 76th in field goal percentage (47.5), 90th in field goal attempts (381), 93rd in assists per game (3.7), 94th in assist/turnover ratio (1.44) and 98th in points (432).
Players chosen to the D3hoops.com All-Region team are eligible for All-American selection. The D3hoops.com All-American men's and women's teams will be released March 22.
Lexow joins former Bison; Cassidy Perry (2021-22 All-Region 4 2nd team, 2022-23 All-Region 4 2nd team, 2023-24 All-Region 4 2nd team), Hannah Neild (2017-18 All-East 3rd team, 2018-19 All-East 1st team); Zamica Gage (2015-16 All-East 3rd team), Lindsay Stergio (2013-14 All-Atlantic 3rd team) and Easter Fa'afiti (2009-10, 2010-11 All-Atlantic 1st team) to have earned D3hoops.com All-Region honors. Fa'afiti was also the 2009-10 D3hoops.com Atlantic Region Player of the Year. Perry, Neild and Fa'afiti are the only repeat selections from Gallaudet on the D3hoops.com All-Region women's teams.
This is the 24th year D3hoops.com has named an All-Region team and this year's All-America team will be the 28th annual All-American selections. The D3hoops.com All-American teams, along with those of the respective coaches' associations, are the only ones recognized in the NCAA record book.
Division III basketball is organized into 10 regions. A region with 40 teams or more has three All-Region teams honored, while a region with fewer than 40 teams has a first and second team. The All-Region teams include a player of the year, rookie of the year and coach of the year. The regional Rookie of the Year award honors the top freshman in each region.
In total there were a record 789 players (men's and women's basketball) nominated nationwide for the 10 regions. Nominating begins shortly after the regular season ends, and involves the Athletic Communications Director/Sports Information Director (SID) at each institution, using the stats they already upload to D3hoops.com through PrestoSports. Athletic Communicators are contacted by email and the list is sent to conference offices for vetting before our panel of SIDs and D3hoops.com staff in each region votes. Players who are first or second-team all-conference or independents at full Division III members are eligible for nomination.
