WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team rolled to an 80-33 victory over Penn St.-Berks here Wednesday night in the Field House in a United East conference game.
Gallaudet (13-9, 10-3 United East) remains in a tie for third place in the latest United East standings.
The Bison scored the game's first 12 points before Penn St.-Berks (2-18, 1-12 United East) got on the scoreboard midway through the first quarter. GU led 23-6 after the first quarter and took a 46-17 lead into halftime.
Gallaudet emptied the bench in the second half as the Bison played nine reserve players. The Bison outscored the Nittany Lions, 34-16, in the second half.

Claire Ruiz-Tucker (Middletown, Md.) scored a game-high 16 points while sophomore guard
Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) to go with nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals.

Raj Guettler (Frederick, Md.) netted 12 points, eight boards, six assists and four steals. The latter two marks were game highs.
Penn St.-Berks was led by Gabrielle Merritt who scored six points and grabbed seven boards. Guard Ashlyn Clark led the Nittany Lions with seven points.
The Gallaudet basketball programs celebrated Black History Month on Wednesday night with a special tribute to
Andrew Foster '54, the first Deaf Black graduate at Gallaudet University. There were special t-shirts handed out and informative halftime presentations about Andrew Foster. Both the GU men's and women's basketball teams wore the special Andrew Foster t-shirts during warm ups and coaches and reserves wore the shirt on the bench during the games.

- First-year forward Mackenzie Schirg (Factoryville, Pa.) led the Bison with 10 rebounds, all on the defensive end of the court, and threw in seven points
- Senior Alexis Roberts (Newton, Miss.) scored six points, grabbed three rebounds and matched Lexow with a game-high three blocks
- Junior center Hannah Puent (Indianapolis, Ind.) added four points, four boards, four assists, two steals and a block
- First-year Dev Sklar (Brooklyn, N.Y.) made her first career basket with a 3-pointer late in the game. Dev was assisted by her twin sister, Hadassah Sklar (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
- Senior Sunita Schmidjorg (Austin, Texas) matched Roberts with six points off the bench
- First year Olivia Wascher (Noblesville, Ind.) scored a career best four points
- GU made a season-high 10 blocks in the game
- The Bison scored 48 points in the paint
