RICHMOND, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's swimming team was
recognized by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with a Scholar All-America Team Award for the Fall 2024 semester.
The CSCAA presents Scholar All-America Team Awards biannually, once for the fall semester and again in the winter/spring semester, for teams that post a combined team GPA above 3.0 for that semester.
The Bison women's team, 13 student-athletes, posted a team grade point average (GPA) of 3.64 during the fall semester to earn this honor.
This is the sixth time the Gallaudet women's swimming program has been honored by the CSCAA (Spring 2021, Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024) while the men's team has been honored four times (Fall 2020, Spring 2021, Spring 2023, Spring 2024).
The CSCAA selected 781 teams from 459 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 654 (including GU) recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, qualifying them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings. Teams were selected based on their Fall 2024 team grade point averages and represent 19,209 student-athletes. A total of 178 Division III women's swimming teams and 144 Division III men's swimming teams were honored.
The Atlantic East Conference (AEC) is represented on both the men's and women's team listings by; Marymount (Va.) University and Marywood University.
In Division III, the Washington University of St. Louis men's team had the highest men's team GPA with 3.83. The Oberlin College women's team was first among Division III women's teams with a 3.82 GPA.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA, is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
