ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Gallaudet University women's team finished out the 2026 Atlantic East Conference swimming championships here Sunday evening at The Aquatics Center at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center on the campus of St. Mary's College of Maryland.
The final day of the competition began this morning with preliminary events in which GU swam for qualification in the finals that evening. A placement of 16th and above qualifies a swimmer for the final competition.
The fourth and final day of the conference championships began with the 200-yard backstroke. First year
Adelle Patton (Puyallup, Wash.), finished the race in 11th place with a time of 2:47.59.
Sophomore
Eliza Peterson (Snellville, Ga.) represented the buff and blue in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 12th place finish (4:01.45).

Hope MacPeek (Russellville, Ark.), Patton, sophomore
Alecia Miller (Litchfield, Ill.) and Peterson ended the championship meet for GU with a sixth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle (5:14.29).
Gallaudet concluded the meet in sixth place out of six teams with 189 total points. The Bison left it all in the pool at the championship meet this weekend with many swimmers breaking personal records.
Defending champion St. Mary's (Md.) took home its fourth AEC championship with 775 points. Marymount (Va.) University clinched second place with 748 points, followed by Marywood University in third with 591 points. Immaculata University stayed steady in fourth place with 413 points, followed by Cedar Crest College in fifth (249) and finally Gallaudet in sixth (189).
