GU plays first road game of the 2025-26 season

CHESTER, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team fell to Widener University, 65-40, on Wednesday evening in a non-conference game at the Schwartz Center.

First-year forward Natalie Greene (Fresno, Texas) led the Bison by scoring a career-high 23 points and grabbed five rebounds. Sophomore forward Sophia Wascher (Noblesville, Ind.) scored six points, grabbed six rebounds and made two steals. First-year forward/center Kayla Debrow (Jacksonsville, Fla.) added four points and made a career-high seven blocks off the bench.

In the first half, Widener (4-0) jumped out early on Gallaudet (0-3) and never looked back. The Pride scored 48 first-half points and limited the Bison to a season low 12 points. 

GU regrouped in the second half and outscored the Pride, 28-17, as the Bison scored 14 points in each quarter and shot 43 percent or higher from the field. Gallaudet ran out of time to cut further into the Widener lead.

Widener was led by Mia Robbins who scored 21 points and collected eight rebounds.

  • This is the third straight game that GU had 41 or more rebounds in a game

Gallaudet will travel to Brooklyn, N.Y., this Saturday, Nov 22, to play at the Brooklyn College (4-0) in a 3 p.m. non-conference game.
