WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University men's soccer team dropped a 12-0 United East conference game against Penn St.-Abington here Tuesday evening at Hotchkiss Field.
Gallaudet (1-8, 1-2 United East) was on defense the entire game as Penn St.-Abington (3-6-3, 2-1 United East) pressed and shot at will on the Bison net. The visitors recorded 47 shots while GU tallied two.
First-year goalie
John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) made a career-high 18 saves as he faced 31 shots on goal by the Nittany Lions. Gallaudet's defense also made one team save in the game.
Senior
Troy Holcomb (Fremont, Calif.) had a scoring opportunity late in the first half as he went on a fast break but his shot sailed high over the goal.
In the second half, the Nittany Lions added eight more goals against the Bison including a goal with two seconds left in the game. Three different Nittany Lions had two goals each as Penn St.-Abington had nine different goal scorers in the game.
