LA PLUME, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team recorded a season-high 22 service aces on Saturday afternoon as the Bison cruised past Keystone College, 3-0, in a United East match.
Gallaudet (13-5, 3-0 United East) rolled to a quick 25-8, 25-8, 25-10 win over the Giants (1-15, 0-3 United East).
Senior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) led the Bison with eight service aces while senior libero
Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) and first year
Angelique Quinonez (Santa Fe, N.M.) each recorded four aces. Gamble added 33 assists and Hicks tallied a match-high eight digs. Gamble is now tied with
Mari Klassen (2009-12) with 274 service aces. Klassen tallied 274 aces in 532 sets while Gamble accomplished the mark in 307 sets. The program record is 346 set by Gallaudet Athletics Hall of Famer
Karen Gilbert (1991-92, 1995-96).
Junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) had a match-high 14 kills. First-year middle hitter
Kayla Debrow (Jacksonville, Fla.) tallied a career-high eight kills with a stellar .778 hitting percentage on nine attempts.
First year
Erin Cargill (Westampton, N.J.) made her collegiate debut in the second set and contributed three service aces and one dig.
