WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team blanked DeSales University, 3-0, here Friday evening in a non-conference match in the Field House. The Bison recorded a sweep over the Bulldogs as GU won in consecutive sets 25-22, 25-20, 25-9.
The Bison (18-5, 6-0 United East) extended their win streak to 12 matches and finished with 56 digs, 45 kills, six blocks and four service aces in the three-set match.
Gallaudet had four players record double-digit digs and three players reached double figures in kills to finish the match with double-doubles.
Senior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with a match-high 17 digs and added 10 kills which was her eighth double-double of the season. Junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) tallied her 11th double-double of the season with a match-high 13 kills, 11 digs and chipped in two aces. Junior middle hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 10 digs. Senior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 39 assists, made four digs and served one ace. Senior
Candace Broadnax (Springfield, Va.) was a perfect 6-for-6 on her attack attempts to finish with six kills and two blocks. Senior libero
Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) was the third Bison in double figures for digs with 10.
The Bulldogs (9-11) were led by Allison Reimer's 11 kills and 14 digs. Ashlyn Dinan and Veda Doxzen recorded 15 and 10 assists, respectively, in the loss.
GU is 5-2 against DeSales since 2009.
