CHESTER, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's volleyball hit the road for the first time this season with a mid-week match at Widener University. The Bison won the second set for a second consecutive match but lost, 3-1, to the Pride by the score of 17-25, 25-18, 10-25, 21-25 in the Schwartz Center.
Gallaudet (0-2) hung around with Widener (3-2) for the duration as the Bison were competitive in three of the four sets.
First-year setter
Troy Holcomb (Fremont, Calif.) led the Bison service game with four aces, passed out 16 assists and made five digs. First-year outside hitter
Ben Beyer (Janesville, Wis.) had a team-high six kills while first year outside hitter
Kodi Lee (Lehi, Utah) recorded four kills, six digs and two aces. First-year libero
Elian Zfati (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied a match-high nine digs.
Michael Martino led the Pride with nine kills and five aces while Jason Sandberg passed out 17 assists. Matthew Christ was second on the Pride with seven kills, eight digs, three blocks, two aces and two assists. Stephen Marquis added seven kills and a match-high five blocks.

GU returns home to host a tri-match with Randolph-Macon University and Immaculata University this Saturday, Feb. 1. The Bison face the Yellow Jackets at noon and close out the day with a match against the Mighty Macs at 4 p.m. The Yellow Jackets and the Mighty Macs will play at 2 p.m. in the Field House.
