OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team split its two Saturday matches here at the Stevenson University Quad hosted by Mustangs. Bison dropped the first match of the day to Salisbury University in four sets, 3-1 (28-26, 20-25, 15-25, 22-25), before they defeated Arcadia University in four sets, 3-1 (11-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-8).
Junior setter Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 37 assists in the opening match against the Seagulls. Sophomore outside hitter Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) led the team with 19 kills followed by sophomore middle hitter Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) with seven kills and senior opposite Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) with five kills. Junior defensive specialist Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) and junior outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) each had 13 digs.
In the Arcadia match, Worley led the way with 22 kills while Lummer had seven aces. Gamble passed out 33 assists and junior defensive specialist Gisella Visco (Riverside, Calif.) made 12 digs for the Bison (4-2).
