FREDERICK, Md. – It was a short trip for Gallaudet University to venture here Thursday night for a women's volleyball match against Hood College in the Volpe Athletic Center. The Bison made quick work of the Blazers and came away with a 3-0 victory.
Gallaudet (9-4) swept Hood by the score of 25-15, 25-21, 25-23.
Sophomore outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) led the way with 19 kills on 27 swings and only two errors for an impressive .630 hitting percentage. Worley added a team best five service aces and made eight digs and one block.
Senior opposite
Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) recorded 10 kills and junior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) tallied six kills and seven digs in a return visit to the pair's hometown.
Junior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 31 assists, made nine digs and served up three aces in the win.
Hood (3-7) was paced by Ann Ofoegbu's seven kills in the loss.
The Bison have won seven straight matches against the Blazers and 15 out of 16 since 1992. Gallaudet swept Hood in 11 of the 15 wins.
