WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team rolled to a straight-set victory, 3-0, over Goucher College here Wednesday evening in the Field House on Padden Court.
Gallaudet (10-4) was swinging at a high clip against the Gophers as the Bison posted the best hitting percentage of the season for a match (.494). GU recorded 44 kills on 77 swings and only six errors. The previous best mark this season was .440 vs. Salem St. (Sept. 14).
The Bison service game was on point as the buff and blue tallied 14 aces. This is the sixth time this season Gallaudet has recorded 14 or more aces in a match. GU now has 159 service aces as a team in 14 matches.
Junior libero
Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) led the way with four aces and a match-high 16 digs to surpass 500 career digs (504).
Junior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) served up three aces to go over the 100 career aces (101) mark. Lummer added six kills and 11 digs in the win.
Sophomore outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) led all players with 16 kills and tallied six digs and two aces. Junior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 33 assists and made eight digs and two aces.
Sophomore middle hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) led the blockers upfront with two block assists as the Bison tallied three blocks in the match.
Junior opposite
Jazelina Bumbala (Austin, Texas) matched a career best with five kills.
Goucher (0-9) was led offensively by Lucy Hendricks' five kills and Athena Savick's 10 digs.

Gallaudet is set the host the 17th annual Worthington Classic this Friday and Saturday in the Field House. The Bison begin the two-day tournament with a non-conference match against Bethel (Minn.) University at 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27.
