WINCHESTER, Va. – Gallaudet University pole vaulter
Liam Painter (Edgewood, N.M.) broke his own school record here Saturday at the NCAA South Region Final Qualifier hosted by Shenandoah University in the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.
Painter cleared 4.58 meters (15 feet, 0.25 inches) to improve on his own school record of 4.57 meters (15 feet even). Painter finished second overall in the event. Painter posted his 4.57-meter mark back on Monday, Feb. 26, at the 2024 United East Indoor Track & Field Championships in Landover, Md., at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Center.
All-American senior sprinter
Eric Gregory (Metairie, La.) placed seventh in the 60-meter dash final with a time of 7.12 seconds. Gregory advanced to the final after he posted a 6.93 time in the preliminaries. Gregory's best time in the 60-meter dash is 6.89 set last month at the Joe LaRocco Invitational.
