Bison falls to Penn St.-Berks in final regular-season road game

READING, Pa.- The Gallaudet University men's basketball team dropped an 86-65 United East conference game to Penn St.-Berks here Saturday at the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center.

Penn St.-Berks (4-18, 3-9 United East) jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the first six minutes of play. Gallaudet (3-21, 2-9 United East) rallied and cut the Wildcats' lead with a back to back layup by junior forward Blessed Mbogo (Silver Spring, Md.) in 15 seconds span. The Nittany Lions bounced back and used a 39-15 run of their own to take a 49-24 lead into halftime.

Bison cut the lead and outscored Penn St.-Berks 41-37 in the second half but the first half was too much for GU.

Gallaudet had two different players in double digits. Mbogo led Gallaudet with 17 points, grabbed five rebounds and two steals. Junior forward Brandon Chung (Kahului, Hawaii) recorded a double-double for the fourth time this season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Junior center Alex Antsiferov (North Charleston, S.C.) added eight points and grabbed four rebounds.
