Gallaudet falls in tough conference battle at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet women's basketball team fell just too short on the road in a conference competition against Penn College this Saturday. Despite a tight match, the Bison's total score could not measure up to Penn College's, resulting in a 66-59 loss.

GU (3-7) was offensively led by senior center Alexis Roberts (Newton, Miss.) and sophomore guard Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.), who scored 15 points each and accumulated almost half of the team's total points. Roberts began the squad's first quarter lead with a layup and maintained possession with four rebounds and a block, while Lexow racked up the score contributing two 3-pointers, one rebound, one assist, and one steal. In an attempt to maintain the Bison advantage, Roberts nailed 3 more points along with another assist and one steal and Lexow blocked one more shot before the halftime buzzer.

Despite dropping the lead in the second quarter, the team remained unrelenting, as did the leading duo. Throughout the second half the senior center tallied 10 points, three rebounds, and one block. Meanwhile, Lexow came up with 7 points, including two additional 3-pointers, three assists, four rebounds, and four steals at guard. Despite falling short of victory, Lexow sank the most 3-pointers of the game (four total). The Bison also led in total blocks (3-1), steals (12-9), and offensive rebounds (12-10).

Penn College (3-6) was led by freshman forward Gigi Parlante, who sank 23 points and contributed two rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block for the victory.
