Mbogo’s season best 24 points not enough against Oglethorpe

ATLANTA– The Gallaudet University men's basketball team traveled south to the Peach State to take on Oglethorpe University and dropped a 96-77 non-conference game in the Dorough Fieldhouse on Sunday evening.

Gallaudet (0-10) and Oglethorpe (5-3) battled in a great game in the first 9:46 minutes as the Bison were up 22-21 until Oglethorpe finished the first half with a 29-16 run that led to a 50-38 score.

The Stormy Petrels were able to control the second half outscoring the Bison, 46-39, with help of Oglethorpe's Dylan Pumpian's stellar performance with 37 points and made 11 3-pointers.

Senior forward Blessed Mbogo (Silver Spring, Md.) scored season high 24 points for Bison. Mbogo grabbed seven rebounds and made a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw lane. Senior forward Brandon Chung (Kahului, Hawaii) added 10 points, grabbed six rebounds and made three steals. First-year guard Alex Ortman (Norway, Mich.) and junior guard Bruce Brewer Jr. (Santa Fe, N.M.) added eight points each.
