WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team played its first United East Conference game on the road this season as the Bison traveled Saturday to Penn College. The host Wildcats defeated the Bison, 7-1.
Gallaudet (2-8, 1-1 United East) fought hard on defense throughout as the Bison trailed 3-0 at the half and were outscored 4-1 in the second half by Penn College (7-4-1, 2-1 United East). The Wildcats had seven different goal scorers in the game.Â
The Bison fended off four shots in the opening nine minutes before Penn College found the back of the next off the foot of Logan Stapleton in the 11th minute. GU's defense was determined to keep the Wildcats at bay as the Bison kept them off the scoreboard for another 20 minutes as Penn College tallied nine shots. Penn College notched its second goal of the game when Tommy DeGeyter assisted Jimmy Friedman on his fourth goal of the season in the 31st minute. Gallaudet was close to getting into halftime only down two but Penn College's Dakoda Buzzy had other thoughts with his first goal of the season in the 43rd minute.
Gallaudet kept their spirits and energy high as the second half began. The Wildcats pounced on offense with a trio of goals in the 52nd, 54th and 56th minutes to increase their lead to six.

Samson Abraham (Seattle, Wash.) helped to get Gallaudet on the scoreboard with his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 62nd minute. Penn College tacked on a seventh and final goal in the 77th minute. Not long before the game came to a close the Bison made one last attempt as first year
Stokely Karp (Framingham, Mass.) blasted a shot left of the goal.Â

Penn College held a 29-2 advantage in shots and 13-4Â in corner kicks in the win.
