Gallaudet Fall Cheerleading honors Seniors on Homecoming Weekend

WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University fall cheerleading program honored its two graduating seniors last Saturday afternoon at Hotchkiss Field on Senior Day and Homecoming Weekend.

GU cheer celebrated their senior class during the pregame of the Gallaudet homecoming football game against Anna Maria College.

Gallaudet's fall cheerleading seniors include; Alecia Miller (Litchfield, Ill.) and Marilyn Puebla (Washington, D.C.).

Gallaudet cheerleading head coach Tara Miles, alongside assistant coaches Shea Jefferson Strain and Isabelle Taveras and the other members of the fall cheer squad, put the spotlight on the two graduating seniors, who were surrounded by family and friends.

"Marilyn and Alecia are what we would call the ULTIMATE cheerleader, the type of cheerleader you would see in the NFL," said Miles. "They are charismatic on the sideline, dynamic with their dance skills, and skilled stunt persons. They both bring positive attitudes, team spirit, and an abundance of talent to the team. We will truly miss both of them and wish them well on their journey after graduation."

Gallaudet's fall cheerleading squad led the immense crowd of 1,527 students, staff, alumni, and fans at Hotchkiss Field with their cheers and enthusiasm, as the Bison claimed a 39-34 victory on the field behind them. The cheerleading team also performed a routine during halftime.
