BALTIMORE - The Gallaudet University men's soccer team made the short trip north to take on Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU) in a United East Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
The Bison were shut out for a ninth time this season as the host Gators rolled to a 9-0 win.
NDMU (4-10, 3-5) netted a trio of goals in the opening nine minutes as the Gators scored three times in a span of just over two minutes. Notre Dame added a fourth goal in the 26th minute and a fifth in the 33rd minute as the host team led 5-0 at the half.
Gallaudet (2-13, 1-6 United East) registered four of its five shots in the game in the opening 45 minutes of play. GU players with a shot include junior midfielder

Stokely Karp (Framingham, Mass.), senior midfielder
Mamboh Smith (Silver Spring, Md.) and junior defender
Troy Holcomb (Fremont, Calif.).Â
GU took the halftime break to regroup to prepare for a defensive second half. Notre Dame took a few warning shots before adding two more goals to its total in the 65th minute. The Gators later added two additional goals to put the game away out of reach. Gallaudet first-year midfielder
Eloi Straub (St. Paul, Minn.) took GU's final shot attempt with 12 seconds left in the game as it went left of the goal.
NDMU outshot Gallaudet 28-5 with 13 shots on goal. The two teams had four corner kicks each.

Jeremy Novas-Duran (Salem, Mass.) got the start in goal for the Bison but only logged 60 minutes in net. Novas-Duran stopped three shots and allowed five goals. Fellow first-year goalie
Luke McBrine (Weymouth, Mass.) closed out the game in goal and made one save and allowed four additional goals.
