TOWSON, Md. – The Gallaudet University men's cross country team finished third at the Coach Caslin Classic here Friday afternoon on the campus of Goucher College.
Coppin State University won the meet with 27 team points as it had two runners in the Top 7 spots. Hagerstown Community College finished second with 29 team points as its best runner placed sixth overall. There were only three teams that had five runners finish the race to earn a team score. Six other schools were represented in the race for a total of nine.
Goucher's Jayden Keels won the 8K race with a time of 27 minutes and 41.79 seconds in a field of 34 runners.
Gallaudet's first runner to cross the finish line was first year
Gabe Cadete (Nashua, N.H.) in 24th place with a time of 35:05.35.
First year
Samuel Sanchez (Los Angeles, Calif.) was the next Bison to cross the finish line in 27th place (38:38.36). A trio of Bison finished close to each other in 31st-33rd place. First year runner
Jay Yang (Darien, Ill.) was 31st (44:55.16), first year
Awais Mughal (Islamabad, Pakistan) was 32nd (46:32.77) and first year
Francois Decaux (Nancy, France) was 33rd (47:12.23).

Gallaudet will rest up the next several weeks before participating in the 2024 United East Conference championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, at Oak Ridge Park in Hughesville, Md., hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland.
