Strong second half for the Bison against Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball dropped a 96-68 United East Conference game to Penn State Harrisburg here Saturday in the Capital Union Building.

Gallaudet (1-22, 0-14 United East) had a strong second half as it made six 3-pointers and shot 60 percent from the field (18-for-30) en route to 44 points.

Senior guard Preston Kelly (Indianapolis, Ind.) picked things up in the second half as he scored 15 of his 19 points over the course of the final 20 minutes. Kelly made 6 of 7 shots from the field, including 2-for-3 from long distance. Junior guard Rory Lewis (Frederick, Md.) also had a strong second frame as he tallied 10 of his 12 points and made two 3-pointers. 

Kelly finished with 19 points, five rebounds and four assists as Lewis matched Kelly with four assists. GU had three different players conclude the game with five rebounds. Sophomore guard Jake Schwall (Fishers, Ind.) was the third Bison in double figures in the game as he scored 11 points.

Penn State Harrisburg (13-10, 10-4 United East) was led by Malik Holland's 24-point game and Nate Curry (19 points, six rebounds). The Lions led 46-24 at the half.

Gallaudet returns home to close out the 2022-23 season in the Field House with two conference games. The Bison welcome Wells College (12-10, 7-6 United East) on Friday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. on Pink Night. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support.
