Four Bison reach double figures in road win over Lehman

BRONX, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University women's basketball team rolled to an 81-57 non-conference victory over Lehman College here Saturday at The APEX.

Gallaudet (4-5) dominated down low with 54 points scored in the paint as the buff and blue shot 46.1 percent from the field. The Bison grabbed 19 offensive rebounds which resulted into 24 points.

Senior forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) led the way with 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block. Junior forward Anya Pothorski (Columbus, Ohio) scored 14 points and grabbed nine boards off the bench. First-year Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) chipped in 13 points, four assists, four steals and two rebounds. The fourth and final Bison in double figures was junior Claire Ruiz-Tucker (Frederick, Md.) with 10 points, four steals, three boards and two assists.

GU outscored Lehman 18-10 in the first quarter and took a 40-27 lead into halftime. The Bison outscored the Lightning, 41-30 in the second half.

The Bison had 11 players log seven or more minutes in the win.

Lehman (0-8) was led offensively by Ramatoulaye Diallo, who scored a game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds to go with four steals, four assists and two blocks in 40 minutes played.

Gallaudet will make the short trip over to Trinity Washington University on Saturday, Dec. 16, for a 1 p.m. non-conference game.
