Gallaudet falls in tough battle at Salisbury

SALISBURY, Md.- The Gallaudet University women's basketball team came up short against Salisbury University, 57-66, on the road Wednesday evening in the non conference game at the Maggs Physical Activities Center.

Gallaudet (3-5) opened with a tie in the first quarter 15-15. Salisbury (5-6) answered and outscored the Bison 12-11 which resulted with a 27-26 lead into halftime.

During the 3rd quarter, Bison opened with a fast start with a 6-2 run which led to 32-29 on the 8:20 mark. Sea Gulls replied with a 15-6 run to a 44-38 lead into the 4th quarter.

GU were outscored in the fourth quarter by three points, 22-19, and tied with 49-49 on the 4:43 mark. Salisbury managed to complete the game with a win after a 17-8 run.

Gallaudet had three different players in double digits led by senior forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) who finished with double-double and team lead with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Perry added three assists. First Year forward Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) added 12 points, six steals, four blocks and one rebound. Senior guard Rajena Guettler (Frederick, Md.) scored 12 points and ripped down eight boards for the buff and blue. Guettler also added three steals.

The Sea Gulls were led by freshman guard Nicole Miller who finished with 15 points and five rebounds.

Gallaudet will travel down to Bronx, N.Y., on Saturday, Dec. 9, to face Lehman College (0-7) in a non-conference game at 12:00 p.m.
